George Foreman vs Jimmy Young
Ring Magazine 1977 Fight Of The Year
Roberto Clemente Coliseum
George Foreman was on the comeback trail after suffering his first defeat at the hands of Muhammad Ali. Since the defeat he had had 5 wins all by KO withing the first 5 rounds most notably against Joe Frazier in a rematch and against Ron Lyle in 1976's FOTY. Question's remained unanswered with regards Foreman's mental toughness and gas tank. Contender Jimmy Young looked to answer those questions. In what was a slow starting fight, both men went about business in a cautious manner. However, once the action heated up, it really got going and the trading began and didn't stop. After this fight it would be 10 years until we saw Foreman again. Enjoy!
